We usually photograph plants, but sometimes there are a few other creatures around. This photo is a little late for Groundhog Day (Feb.2). Plus, this isn’t the usual forecasting groundhog, but a close relative – a yellow-bellied marmot. We often saw them scampering around in the mountains at 9,000 feet or higher in the Sierra.
Given all the ups-and-downs of late, the last couple days were somewhat better. Paul survived his infusion much better this time, and he didn’t get 4-5 days of bad flu side-effects. The nurse who administered the infusion had three suggestions. First, she gave him some anti-nausea medication at the same time as the infusion. Second, she said a slow IV drip often causes less side-effects than a fast IV. Third, often the first infusion is worse than the second or later infusions. But, sometimes not. It seems the stars were lined up this time and one, two or all three suggestions helped out.
Meanwhile, Tim’s blood results today remain normal. He’s felt a little better over the past couple days, but still not tip-top. We have to wait until early March 3 for his CT scan to see if his chemo treatments have slowed his cancer.
